About Ranakpur
Ranakpur is one of the most important pilgrimage sites located at a
distance of around 60kms from Udaipur in the north Indian State Rajasthan.
There is a beautiful temple complex built in 1439 AD having some marvelous
carved Jain temples which attract tourists & pilgrims from all parts of
India.
» Climate - Ranakpur experiences a tropical
climate. During Summer the temperature varies between 42 to 22 degrees C and
in winter the maximum temperature is around 20 degrees c and minimum is 11
degrees C. The best time to visit the place is in winter i.e. from October
to March. Annual total rainfall is arround 55 cms.
Major Attractions
» Jain Temples - There is a beautiful temple complex
built in 15th century has some marvellously carved Jain temples. The whole
complex covers an area of 48,000 sq.feet with several halls & carved
pillars. The Chaumukha Temple is dedicated to Adinath and two other temples
are dedicated to Parsvanath & Neminath. Also the temple of Sun God is
worth visiting.

» Sadri - Located 8km from Ranakpur is famous for
its beautiful temples and the Dargah of Khudabaksh Baba. The Varahavtar
Temple and the Chintamani Parasvanath Temple are the most ancient temples
situated here.
» Kumbhalgarh - Situated around 30 km from Ranakpur
and its fort & wildlife sanctuary are the major tourist attractions. The
sanctuary houses a rich variety of wildlife including Panther, Sloth Bear,
Wild Boar etc.
» Narali - This is around 6 km from Ranakpur and has
many Hindu & Jain temples like the temple of Adinath with beautiful
mural paintings.
How to Get There
» Air - The nearest airport is in Udaipur (Dabok
Airport) and is 80 km away.
» Rail - Falna is the nearest railhead but the
nearest major railway station is at Udaipur which is connected to Delhi,
Jaipur & other cities of Rajasthan by regular train services.
» Road - An excellent road network links Ranakpur
with Udaipur, Jaipur and several other nearby places.
