The best time to visit the Northern state of Rajasthan is during the winter season as it is very hot and humid in the summers. Yet, the state is visited round the year by the tourists despite of hot and humid climate during the summers.. The colder days are ideal for sight seeing and visiting the important destinations around the place from the Monumental Architectures to the temple with the pleasure of the Camel safaris along the golden colored sand dunes.

Temperature in the summer period generally exceeds above 40°Celsius and takes the extreme form in the desert areas with sudden dust storms. The temperatures in the winters can sometimes dip down below 10°C. Visitors are advised to take due precautions of the heat while on the outing with plenty of water in stocks. The winters bring shivering cold to the place but are bearable and people take the pleasure of the season through sight seeing and visiting places of interests. The warm days in the months of October till the month of March are suitable to take most of the pleasure out of the vacation to the state of Rajasthan.
Puskar Fair in November
One of the most popular and colorful fairs of the Thar desert, Pushkar fair, that begins on Kartik Shukla Ekadashi and goes on for five days till Kartik Purnima attracts a lot of tourist to the state. Hordes of travelers reach the place well before the commencement of the fair, which is held in real pomp and festivity among the local people.
The time of the fair coincides with the bright half of the moon during the months of October-November. These five days are a period of relaxation and merry-making for the villagers. It is one of the largest cattle fairs in the country where Camels at the fair are decorated with silver jewelley and beads. There are silver bells and bangles around their ankles that sound when they walk. An interesting ritual is the piercing of the camel's nose.
