Rajasthan Biking Tour

After a sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi, leave for Jaipur where you'll visit Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, City Palace and Observatory. Travel to the holy town of Pushkar, which is also the venue for the Pushkar Cattle Fair. See the Khejerala Fort and the Osian Temple Complex before reaching the desert city of Jaisalmer where you'll enjoy a camel safari to the Sam Sand Dunes. Enter another desert city – Jodhpur, along with an excursion trip to the Bishnoi village. See the Jain Temples of Ranakpur and visit Udaipur, the 'City of Lakes'. Enjoy a jeep safari inside the Ranthambore National Park. Finally, visit Agra, the 'City of the Taj'. 


Tour Itinerary

Day 01 : Arrive - Delhi

On arrival transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 02 : Delhi Sightseeing

The sightseeing of Delhi is divided in two parts old and new Delhi Sightseeing of Old Delhi includes visit to Jama Masjid considered as the splendid mosque built by Shahjahan where thousands of Muslims offers prayers, Red Fort – an important symbolic monument built of red sandstone and Rajghat where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. Later enjoy a rickshaw ride at Chandni Chowk believed to be one of the busiest market in North Delhi. New Delhi holds attractions like Qutab Minar considered as best example for Indo Islamic architecture, Humayun's Tomb which explains the Mughal architecture at its best. In evening drive past through India Gate & President's Palace.

Day 03 : Delhi – Jaipur (265 kms)

The city of Brave-hearted Rajput Rulers ruled over the Golden Desert Land for years and they left their marks in the form of spectacular architectural buildings, which today narrates the stories of that Great Golden era of Rajput rule. Welcome to Jaipur. Upon arrival transfer to hotel hotels and their hospitality too attract tourists from India and overseas. Places of interest are Amer Fort, Jaigarh Fort, City Palace, Observatory.

Day 04 : Jaipur – Pushkar (145 kms)

Pushkar is set in a valley just about 14 km off Ajmer in the north Indian state of Rajasthan. Surrounded by hills on three sides and sand dunes on the other, Pushkar forms a fascinating location and a befitting backdrop for the annual religious and cattle fair. According to legends, Pushkar Lake was surrounded by 500 temples and 52 palaces (several rajas and maharajas maintained palaces here for pilgrimage) at one point. The Brahma temple is the most important temple here and is, in fact, the only Brahma temple of India.

Day 05 :Pushkar – Khejerala (120 kms)

Khejarla fort was built in 1611A.D. for Thakur Gopaldas ji, who was granted this Jagir for his great achievement in war. This 400 years old fort is now beautifully converted into the Heritage Fort with all comforts and luxury and is conceived as a place where past meets future. This luxury resort comprises of 40 rooms each and every room is richly and tastefully adorned with ethnic décor. Day 06 :Khejerala – Osian (150 kms)

To experience real heaven on Earth, one has to visit this temple town always have the atmosphere of spiritual seclusion. For a true lover of ancient architecture and artistic style, Osian reveals all its wealth, Osian is worth visiting. Tourists can mingle with rural folks and participate in many religious rituals and experience real Rajasthan in Osian.The temple complex in Osian is the main attraction, with 18 shrines in the group and is famous for its elegant sculptures and architectures. Out of these temples, Sachiya Mata temple, Jain temple built of local red sandstone with Mahaveera as the Main deity, the Sun temple and the Kali temple stands out as the grandeur monuments due to its architectural style and traditions. The Osian sunset point is famous for its panoramic view of the setting sun over the golden sands

Day 07: Osian – Jaisalmer (220 kms)

The golden city is a beautiful town in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is one of the largest districts in India and forms a part of the Great Thar Desert. The city has a dry climate with hot summers and cold winders and sparse rains. The city has a large variety of flora and fauna with poisonous snakes very commonly seen here. The Havelis and the Forts add beauty to the city and attract people form all over the globe to this beautiful desert city of Rajasthan. Upon arrival transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 08 :Jaisalmer – Sam Dunes (42 kms)

Sam Sand Dunes, about 42 away km from Jaisalmer, is the most popular excursion to see the total sandy bush less desert. It has a truly glorious stretch of sweeping sand dunes. It is best to be here at sunrise or sunset, and many camel safaris spend a night at the dunes. The best way to see this and other sights around Jaisalmer is to take a came safari.

Day 09 :Jaisalmer – Jodhpur (275 kms)

The second largest city of the state of Rajasthan. It has been drawing the attention of tourists from all over the world. Standing as the sentinel of the country's western border, Jodhpur is famous for its magnificent forts and palaces. Jodhpur is situated at the edge of the Thar Desert with Jaisalmer on its west, Barmar, Jalor and Pali on its south, Bikaner on its north, and Nagaur on the eastern side. It has a typical desert climate, dry and hot. The ideal time to visit this place is the period between November and March. The city is like an oasis in the vast desert, with a variety of thorny shrubs all over the area.

Day 10: Jodhpur (Excursion to Bishnoi Tribal Village)

Where the huts of Guda Bishnoi Village are neat and clean and the people lead a vegetarian lifestyle. They believe in conserving the natural environment. Bishnoi carpenters never cut trees. They wait for trees to die on their own or fall down during storms. The inhabitants of Guda Bishnoi Village pray to Lord Vishnu and bury their dead to show their faith in secular existence. The varied species in Guda Bishnoi Village include blackbucks, antelopes, chinkaras, peacocks and even cranes. Gazelles are commonly available in the Jodhpur district where they are worshipped by the Bishnoi tribes. The blackbuck is also a much-worshiped animal among the Bishnoi tribes who inhabit the area.

Day 11: Jodhpur – Ranakpur (180 kms)

Located in the mountain ranges of Pali district, Ranakpur is reached after passing lush green valleys and streams and the heart capturing views drive away any fatigue of the journey. The Ranakpur Jain Temple was built during the reign of the liberal and gifted monarch Rana Kumbha in the 15th century. An enormous basement covers 48,000 sq. feet area. There are four subsidiary shrines, twenty four pillared halls and eligibly domes supported by over four hundred columns. Upon arrival transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 12: Ranakpur – Udaipur (90 Km)

The city of Lakes "Udaipur" is a lovely blend of water, lush green hills that set fire and passion in poet. Its palaces are straight out of a fairy-tale book, lakes, forts, palaces, temples, gardens, mountains and narrow lanes lines withdrawn with stalls, relives the reminisces of a heroic past, valor and chivalry. Their reflection in the placid waters of the Lake Pichola is excitement that defines imagination. On arrival at Udaipur transfer to hotel and check-in. overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 14: Udaipur – Chittorgarh (113 kms)

The story of Chittorgarh is a saga of valor, tenacity and sacrifice. Chittorgarh (also Chittaurgarh) was sacked three times and its defenders had to make the supreme sacrifice. It is located in the southern part of the state of Rajasthan, in the northwestern part of India. It is located beside a high hill near the Gambheri River. Some of the historic sites to be visited are Chittorgarh Fort, Victory Tower and Tower of Fame and Rana Kumbha's Palace.

Day 15: Chittorgarh – Bundi (140 kms)

The small, rustic town of Bundi was the capital of one of the erstwhile princely states of Rajasthan. It is known for its palaces, forts, Baolis (step wells) and water tanks. It is located in the southern part of the state of Rajasthan, in the northwestern part of India. It is located amidst a hilly terrain, near a gorge.

Day 16: Bundi – Ranthambore (130 kms)

Ranthambore National Park is not only popular for the tigers but it also well-known for a diverse range of enthralling flora and fauna. The park is located at the edge of a plateau, at the junction of the undulating Aravalli and Vindhya Hill Ranges. One can also find several lakes that are located in the park and enhance the scenic beauty of this natural forest to a considerable extent. The Ranthambore National Park is visited by many tourists from far corners of India for its varied wildlife that includes mammalians, amphibians, reptilians and a sizeable population of fascinating bird species. Day 17: Ranthambhore – Karauli (110 kms)

A sylvan delight packed in a rural ambience. It was founded in 1348 AD by one Raja Arjun Pal. In those days Karauli used to be the capital of a small state of the same name. Legend has it that the ruling families were descendants of Lord Krishna, one of the most loved god of Hindu mythology. Day 18: Karauli – via Fatehpur Sikri - Agra (200 kms)

Fatehpur Sikri was built during 1571 and 1585. Today this ghost city has a population of about 30,000. This deserted city has retained many of the old structures, because of the efforts of the Archaeological department. Fatehpur Sikri is one of the finest examples of Mughal architectural splendor at its height. Though the city is in ruins, it is a place to visit if one comes to Agra. But in real terms Fatehpur Sikri is a place where one should spend some time. The sunset over the ruins is sight to cherish.

Day 19: Agra

Agra with it's glorious past has lots more to offer a discerning traveler besides the mystic and splendors of the Taj. Taj Mahal is a deserving resting palace for an Emperor's Empress. It stands on the banks of the river Yamuna, which otherwise serves as a wide moat defending the Great Red Fort of Agra, the center of the Mughal emperors until they moved their capital to Delhi in 1637. It was built by the fifth Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan in 1631 in memory of his second wife, Mumtaz Mahal, a Muslim Persian princess. She died while accompanying her husband in Burhanpur in a campaign to crush a rebellion after giving birth to their 14th child.
